When moving into your partner's current home, you need to arrange this:

  • Register your new address with the Swedish Tax Agency

It is mandatory to register your new address with the Swedish Tax Agency if you are going to live there for more than six months.

If you are moving in together in a new home, you also need to arrange this:

  • Get electricity, internet and insurance for your new home

Do not forget to cancel your current agreements to avoid double billing.

You may also want to arrange this when moving in together:

  • Get a cohabitation agreement

It is always good to revise the law in connection with life changes, such as moving in with your partner. With the proper agreements in place, you protect yourself against unexpected financial surprises if something does not turn out as planned.

  • Get a temporary storage space

When you move in together, you might not have room for all your things and furniture. Also, you probably don't need two sofas and double sets of cutlery. Rent a temporary storage place to solve the problem.
